This seems Far Fetched to me , They were Pursued by Indians yet had the Time to dig a 25 foot Hole ? I would think if they were that far ahead of the Indians,
How did they even know they were Being Pursued ?
However this is a Treasure Tale & I Don’t know the actual Circumstances ,plus if the hole was already there (a well maybe / too deep for a Crapper) and they only had to fill it.
